Starting a New Journal or Transitioning an Existing One
STAR Scholars welcomes two pathways for partnership:
1. Launching a New Journal
We invite individuals, academic societies, institutions, or research groups with a compelling vision to submit proposals for new journal launches. These journals may address emerging areas of scholarship, interdisciplinary intersections, or underserved academic communities. We provide full support—from editorial system setup to design, indexing, and marketing—to build the journal from the ground up.
2. Transferring an Existing Journal to STAR Scholars
We also invite editors or institutions who currently publish a journal and are seeking:
- A new open-access home,
- Stronger international visibility,
- Greater editorial autonomy,
- Or a collaborative global platform,
to consider transitioning their existing journal to STAR Scholars. Whether your journal is currently housed at a university, published independently, or seeking a relaunch, we are equipped to provide a seamless migration process.
Benefits include:
- Hosting on our Open Journal Systems platform
- Retention of your editorial board and vision
- Access to a global readership and contributor base
- DOI and indexing management
- Custom design and layout services
- Professional development for your editorial team
To discuss journal transfer opportunities, please contact us at publications@starscholars.org with the subject line: “Journal Publication Inquiry” or complete this form.
