PROGRAM POLICIES

    • Self-driven module completion: Participants must complete the modules, which are designed to be completed in a self-driven manner, showing a high level of commitment to the learning goals and accountability to their own learning.
    • Learning Platform: To facilitate a flexible and engaging learning experience, we have chosen Google Classroom as our platform for learning and collaboration. Participants will have access to comprehensive reading materials, video resources, and engaging tasks for each module. They will complete these modules at their own pace, dedicating 2-4 hours per week to maintain the program’s quality and progression. However, participants are encouraged to invest additional time for practice, tailoring the program to their specific needs.
    • Learning with language learning buddies: Language is learned best by using it. So, in addition to materials for reading, watching, and doing/completing to practice the language on your own, facilitators will suggest “language learning buddies” with whom you should practice the learning items as much as you can. Share your presentation slide deck with your buddies and exchange feedback on all aspects of your learning. Investing plenty of extra time and being generous with each other’s learning will greatly enhance self-driven and collaborative learning outcomes.
    • Attendance/engagement: Attendance and active engagement is required in the orientation, the four modules, and final presentation. The failure to do the following will be reasons for removal by facilitators: complete/submit work by deadline, show up regularly and engage actively, submit high quality work on Google Classroom (facilitators will set a reasonable threshold of quality/rigor). Depending on the ratio of participants to facilitators, the latter will provide feedback.
  • Certificates: Facilitators will request their respective university leaders to both support/sponsor the program and to provide certificates of completion to participants who complete the program successfully. Participants must meet the quality threshold to qualify for the certificates. Top performers will also be recognized at the celebration.
