Talukdar, Vice Chancellor of Assam down town University (AdtU), India, to the Advisory Board of the American Journal of STEM Education, one of the flagship international journals published by STAR Scholars Press.
Dr. Talukdar joins an esteemed group of global academic leaders and STEM advocates who guide the journal’s strategic vision and international engagement. The Advisory Board includes Prof. Felix Maringe, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kigali (Rwanda); Dr. Kelly Mack, Vice President for Undergraduate STEM Education at the American Association of Colleges and Universities (USA); Dr. Patriann Smith, Vice President of the Literacy Research Association and Professor at the University of South Florida (USA); and Dr. Kim C. O’Halloran, Vice President and Chief of Staff at Rutgers University (USA).
A distinguished scientist, educator, and higher education leader, Dr. Talukdar currently serves as Vice Chancellor of Assam down town University, a rapidly growing multidisciplinary institution located in Guwahati, Assam, India. The university is recognized for its commitment to innovation, healthcare education, research, entrepreneurship, community engagement, and international collaboration, serving students from across India and beyond.
Dr. Talukdar brings more than three decades of experience in research, university leadership, and scientific innovation. His academic career includes leadership roles as Director of the Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology and Director of the Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development, two premier research institutions in India. His scholarship spans soil chemistry, biotechnology, ecosystem sustainability, natural products, agricultural sciences, and traditional knowledge systems, with an extensive portfolio of internationally recognized publications and scientific contributions.
He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada, and completed postdoctoral studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel. His achievements have been recognized through numerous honors, including the Assam State Science Award and several national and international distinctions for scientific leadership and research excellence.
