Dr. Shyam Thapa – STAR Fellow
Shyam Thapa (PhD, Brown University) is currently an adjunct professor and an independent consultant specializing in public health research and evaluation. He has more than 25 years of experience working with public, private, and multinational organizations in multiple countries. For several years Dr. Thapa served as a resident technical advisor to Nepal’s National Planning Commission, Ministry of Population and Environment, and Ministry of Health. He has also worked as a scientist at the World Health Organization’s headquarters and as a global health fellow/senior advisor in research and evaluation at USAID in Washington, DC. Dr. Thapa has authored and co-authored many articles and co-edited books. He currently divides his time, commuting primarily between the United States and Nepal.
