
Ram Hari Thapa, M.Eng., P.E.
Ram Hari Thapa is a licensed Professional Engineer in the United States specializing in civil and structural engineering. He serves as Director of Engineering at Golden Branch Development & RR Consulting Engineers LLC in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. Over a career of more than 30 years in engineering design and construction management, spanning 16 years in the United States, three in Japan, and 11 in his native Nepal, he has delivered federal, public, and private projects. These include housing developments, office buildings, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, refineries, airport hangars, and commercial facilities.
Born and raised in Dhapakhel, Lalitpur, Nepal, Mr. Thapa earned a certificate in civil engineering from Pulchowk Campus, Tribhuvan University, followed by a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering (Structures) from the University of Texas at Tyler. His current research focuses on safe rooms that protect against tornadoes, hurricanes, extreme heat, and fire; on earthquake-resistant design; and on panic rooms built to withstand ballistic threats and forced entry.
Mr. Thapa has served on the Board of Directors of the National Storm Shelter Association (2020–2023) and as Vice-Chair of the Structural Engineering Institute’s Dallas Chapter (2019–2021). He is a life member of the American Society of Nepalese Engineers and a member of ASCE (since 2000), the International Code Council, the Structural Engineers Association of Texas, AISC, and ACI.
Deeply engaged in his community, he is a founding member and board director of Everest Federal Credit Union, a Board Ambassador for the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District (2025–2026), a founding life member of the Board of Trustees of the Nepali Cultural and Spiritual Center in Dallas, and a Senator of the Education Global Senate. He also serves on the Science, Technology and Innovation Committee of the NRNA National Coordination Council USA (2025–2027). Through mentoring and education, he works to strengthen infrastructure and public safety and to shape the next generation of engineers.
