Norin Taj is a PhD student at Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, based at the University of Toronto. She completed her Masters in the Department of Leadership, Higher and Adult Education at the University of Toronto. Her research interests are in educational policy and International organizations (IOs), academic management and policy as practice in the Global South and Global North.
She brings extensive experience as a school teacher and teacher educator in Pakistan and her research is focused on the role of international and transnational organisations in promoting girls’ education, including how the ‘local’ is dominantly perceived and engaged by global actors. In looking critically at issues of power and value pluralism in the area of girls’ education policy and practice, her work stands to promote and support the forms of multi-level dialogue between policymakers and practitioners required for successful policy design and implementation.
