Neeta Inamdar is Dean of the Faculty of Education, and Research Professor and Head of the Symbiosis Centre for Higher Education Research and Policy Advocacy (SCHERPA), Symbiosis International (Deemed University). She also serves as Advisor to the Symbiosis Centre for European Studies (SCES) and holds a Jean Monnet Chair.
She is known for her work in higher education policy and practice, particularly in the field of international education. She has three books to her credit: Internationalization of Higher Education: The Dynamics of Educational Ecology; Reimagining Borders in Cross-Border Education; and Contours of India-EU Engagements: Multiplicity of Experiences, published by Manipal Universal Press and Routledge. Most of her academic work addresses the global politics of higher education, drawing together her experience and expertise at the intersection of international education and international relations.
She was instrumental in establishing MCES in 2009 and has led it since, developing it into a Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence. She believes in people-to-people connections as a means of peaceful coexistence and focuses her research on educational links between India and Europe.
Professor Inamdar has led major EU-funded projects and has been a recipient of a Jean Monnet Module (2014–2017) and a Jean Monnet Chair (2017–2020). She is actively involved in Erasmus+ programmes and has visited several universities in Europe on teaching and research assignments. She supervises and leads a team of young scholars working in this area.
