Julie Chami Lindsay, University of Toronto (Canada)
I am a PhD student at the University of Toronto (OISE), studying the impact of social and cultural capital on the school choice process. I am also an educator in a public school board outside of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. In my research, I argue that the decentralization and privatization of the public school system enhances educational inequity. My research currently reflects a Canadian perspective as I attempt to uncover covert forms of social exclusion in this unique, and understudied context.
