Freeda Bukhari Khan, PhD, is an educator, researcher, and practitioner specializing in intercultural competence, cultural intelligence, and global leadership. She earned her PhD from the University of Toronto, where her research focused on the internationalization of higher education and the development of intercultural competence in business students. Her research interests include intercultural competence and communication, cultural intelligence, global leadership, and global citizenship, and she has presented her work at the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES).
Dr. Khan has over twenty years of experience in higher education, working with undergraduate and graduate students in teaching, student engagement, and international education. She has developed international partnerships, managed global education initiatives, and led experiential learning programs in 37 cities across 23 countries. She is a qualified administrator of the Cultural Intelligence (CQ) Assessment and the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI).
She currently teaches the capstone course for the Global Leadership Minor at the University of Toronto, and has taught cross-cultural management, global leadership, and intercultural communication at Toronto, Humber College, and in organizational settings. Through her research, teaching, and professional practice, Dr. Khan is committed to advancing intercultural learning and preparing students to lead effectively across cultures.
