
Osman Gultekin completed his BA degree in Economics from Boğaziçi University, his MBA from Bahçeşehir University and his Ph.D. in Political Science and International Relations at the same university with the dissertation title “International Education and Soft Power”. He also conducted postdoctoral research at Carleton University, Canada. After working as an Assistant Professor and the Director of International Relations at Fenerbahçe University, he is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and Vice Director of International Relations at Istanbul Aydın University.
Dr. Gultekin, who has been working as an overseas education consultant since 2002, previously held an administrative position at Bahçeşehir University Centre for Security Studies (BAUCESS) and chaired the Association of Overseas Education Consultants and Agencies (YEDAD) in Turkiye. He served as the chairman of the Pertevniyal High School Alumni Association between the years 2017 and 2023.
Osman Gultekin has a book series “Education and Power”. The first book “National Education and Construction of Power” was published in 2020. His other books “International Education and Student Mobility” were published in 2021, and “International Education and Soft Power” in 2022. His academic interests include International Relations Theories, Public Diplomacy, Education Diplomacy, Foreign Policy Analysis, Soft Power, Comparative Politics, Education and Development, Comparative Education, International Education and Internationalization of Higher Education.
