Dawa Sherpa – STAR Scholar

I belong to an ethnic community of Sherpa with middle class background. My area of interest is in developing report and articles for development sector, organizing various event taking part in it. Similarly I also have interest in social media management, running virtual campaign through various medium.

I also want to amplify social issue in my communities and surrounding through citizen journalism, Similarly, I have huge interest in public speaking, research areas and publishing scholarly articles. I have my helped my seniors and juniors in writing their research papers for bachelors and Master’s degree. I believe, I can be a suitable candidate as the I have experience of management working in Kathmandu International School as a E.C.A. Coordinator Assistant, Jamchen School as English teacher and E.C.A. Coordinator Assistant for monks and in Atul Smriti Vidhalaya as English E.C.A Coordinator and Spoken English teacher.I have also received Basic Psycho-Social Counselling Skills which I believe would be a great point while interacting with others. I have also worked in different organization as student volunteer during my Undergraduate study.

I was successfully able to conduct public speaking classes, well-being classes, and coordinate drawing and guitar lessons in Juvenile Correction home, Bhaktapur. I was also able to organize different programs in Amrita Foundation Nepal where were able to experience working with people with mental issues. I am also currently the Class Representative for my Master’s Program. I recently worked as a Freelance Translator for Beads for Life organization where I was able to conduct interviews and prepare reports for the organization. I have experience in writing notice and disseminating information to others in social media officially for the program coordinator, hence I believe I can be a good candidate for the fellowship.
