Dr. Kani Bassey is a higher education leader, educator, and marketing strategist with more than two decades of experience in admissions operations, marketing, and student engagement. She currently serves as Director of Admissions Operations and Systems at Capitol Technology University, where she leads enrollment management strategies and data-driven initiatives to enhance the student experience. At the same time, she is an Adjunct Professor of Marketing at the University of Maryland Global Campus, teaching courses that prepare students to thrive in today’s digital economy.
Her career includes over twenty years of experience at Montgomery College, Northern Virginia Community College, and Frederick Community College, in roles ranging from consulting to adjunct faculty to interim marketing director. She holds an Ed.D. in Higher Education from Morgan State University, with research on international student engagement through social media. Guided by a student health first philosophy, Dr. Bassey explores academic wellness as a key to student success. Most recently, she extended her impact globally through missionary work in the Dominican Republic, empowering students with cybersecurity awareness, business insights, and higher education guidance.
