Quonna D. Coleman

Quonna D. Coleman serves as the Secretary of the Global Leadership Team at the STAR Scholars Network. Dr. Coleman, Ph.D., is an experienced business professional who oversees Human Resources System Operations at a global chemical company. She has a background in public government and over two decades of experience in the oil and gas/chemical industry. Dr. Coleman’s research interests include public policy, social and economic development, school-community partnerships, socio-emotional learning, education policy, and educational barriers. Her work has been published in the International Business & Economics Research Journal and the Journal of Social and Development Sciences. Throughout her career, Dr. Coleman has actively sought volunteer opportunities and worked with various profit and non-profit organizations, including organizing “Days of Service” to support the community’s needs. Most recently, she served as the Director of Community Partnerships and Engagement with the STAR Scholars Network. She has been involved in several political campaigns and has worked as an intern for the Office of Harris County Attorney, focusing on Civil Rights Litigation. Later, she worked at the White House in the Obama Administration, where she concentrated on state and local governmental engagement and outreach efforts. She remains an active part of the network. Dr. Coleman has also participated in Junior Achievement and has been a long-time Big Brother Big Sister, including serving on their Committee for Resource Development. She has been able to serve communities globally as a part of Missions in Haiti and El Salvador. Dr. Coleman was an Excellence Award Finalist for Operational Improvement and the recipient of her company’s CEO Key Talent Award. Dr. Coleman holds a Ph.D. from Hampton University and is a two-time Texas Southern University graduate, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration.
