Shankar K. Shakya – STAR Scholar

Shankar K. Shakya is a Ph.D. candidate in Niklaus Grunwald lab at Oregon State University. His research focuses on population genetics and genomics of plant pathogen Phytophthora species. Shankar got his M.S. in plant pathology from the University of Florida. Dr. Shakya was a visiting scholar for the International Potato Center (CIP), 2013, Quito, Ecuador. He has been an advocate of open science and is leading a population genetics workshop in Nepal in fall 2019.
